And Just Like That... spoilers follow for the debut episodes.

After so much waiting, Sex and the City revival And Just Like That... finally premiered this week, and it wasted no time in delivering some brilliantly ridiculous twists.

Not only does the show explain Samantha Jones' absence by not-so-subtly hinting at Kim Cattrall's real-life feud with Sarah Jessica Parker, but they also wrote Carrie's husband Mr Big out in a crazy way: he died while riding a Peloton bike.

Fans were divided on whether his death was a good thing, with some saying he deserved better, but we think it's probably the best thing the revival could have done.

Some people we'd imagine aren't best pleased with this cause of death are the bosses at Peloton, since their brand of static exercise bikes are named within the show.

In a brilliant example of PR spin, preventative cardiologist and Peloton board member Dr Suzanne Steinbaum has stated that, if it wasn't for his bike, he might have died earlier.

"Mr Big lived what many would call an extravagant lifestyle – including cocktails, cigars, and big steaks – and was at serious risk as he had a previous cardiac event in Season 6," she told the LA Times.

"These lifestyle choices and perhaps even his family history, which often is a significant factor, were the likely cause of his death. Riding his Peloton Bike may have even helped delay his cardiac event.

"25% of heart attacks each year are in patients who already had one (like Mr. Big), even then they are very, very treatable. The lesson here is, KNOW YOUR NUMBERS! It's always important to talk to your doctor, get tested, and have a healthy prevention strategy."

As for what this new world without Mr Big could mean for Carrie, we think it offers her a new lease of life and chance to grow again during her 50s.
